Is there any chance of seeing a Windows 32-bit build or is 3.x. I guess it works but wouldn’t it be better to store the user preferences in the user’s profile folder instead (where we put our plugins, styles, and other things we customize). Gedit stores really basic user preferences in the Windows registry. (just displays the red X but doesn’t tell me what went wrong) Is there any way to get more detailed error information? For example I try to enable the commander plugin but it doesn’t work. externaltools is the biggest one – I might be able to work around the missing panel issue if I could at least launch the console or external scripts but I can’t. Some plugins appear to be completely missing. I’ve got to repeat the process (sometimes multiple times) before I can get it back again. Afterwards – if Gedit is closed the Python console (and bottom panel) completely disappear. The only way I can get it back is to disable all the plugins (I’m using the defaults), restart, and then re-enable them. It looks good but some things are buggy to the point where I can only use it for the most simple editing. Thank you – the Windows builds are appreciated (using it on Win7 64-bit).

The only other thing I needed - for copy-pasting just sections of already indented code (say functions from inside classes) - one extra level of indentation to not need to re-do the indentation of the copied code. This example is also in your first homework assignment. Your snippet needs just 2 multi-line copy-paste ops to work around that empty line. So you just need to pay attention at those empty lines. In your snippet's case the empty line preceeding the disable() function definition ends/exits the class definition prematurely, so when the disable() definition line comes in an indentation error is detected: > class bcolors: The empty line, however, does cause trouble in the standard python interpreter because it normally is the shell-s de-indent cmd. In particular about your example snippet - copy-pasted from SO's code-formatted section - it doesn't matter (assuming the code is properly indented to be executable). My answer is specifically about copy-pasting into the standard python shell (only tested on linux).ĭepending on where the code comes from and how it is originally formatted the whitespace may or may not matter.
